Hello!
Here at Spółdzielnia Słów we strive
to make events more accessible,
to reach a wider audience and create a more inclusive future. Whether you need live subtitles, audio description, or other modes of audiovisual translation, we’re here to help.

About
We ensure accessibility of in-person and online events by providing transcriptions, live subtitles and other forms of audiovisual translation and conference interpreting.
We strive to make events more accessible and easier to follow, particularly for those with a hearing disability, elderly people or foreigners. We want to give everyone the option to participate in an event, and not have to miss out due to the lack of adequate accessibility provisions.
We are a team of experienced translators and interpreters. Our services have been used by cultural institutions,
non-governmental organisations, universities, private companies, and online content creators, among others.
Services
What makes an event accessible? We believe it’s when it can be enjoyed by a diverse group of people. Here at Spółdzielnia Słów, we create transcriptions and live subtitles that allow participation for people who are d/Deaf or hard of hearing, elderly people, non-native speakers, and—in the case of online events—anyone who simply forgot to bring their headphones. We also offer subtitles for existing content, adaptation for dubbing and voiceover, audio description, alternative text, conference interpreting, Polish Sign Language interpreting, and Easy-to-Read translations. We’re also open to consult on other accessibility-related matters tailored to your specific needs.

Let’s make a difference together!
We believe that providing accessibility is not only good practice but also a way of respecting fundamental human rights. Creating accessible, inclusive spaces allows everyone to participate in culture, education, the job market, politics or entertainment. Whether it’s for the benefit of people with disabilities, the d/Deaf community or elderly people, considering and meeting accessibility needs is a form of prevention against discrimination and social exclusion. More and more institutions and organisations are incorporating transcriptions and live subtitles into their events to increase their prestige and to reach wider audiences. Many are also striving to comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). These trends are accompanied by legal changes, both locally in Poland and internationally, reflected in examples such as the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
